Tip from Poker pro Phil Gordon On Tournament Strategy

"AND I Qoutet"When you first start a tourny you need to let the game orbit around the table atlest two time that way you can get the fell of the player to see how they play see if they like to play alot of hands or do thay ploay tight poker see if they go all the way to the river on a flush draw and stuff like that and play the person not only the game. There are three levals of play in a tourny and I'll go throw those levels with you.

Level 1, players only conseder the hand they are deltnot the one you have. They usually play loose passiveve poker they love to play sutited hands and will go all the way to the river on the flush draw.

Leval 2, players give some consideration to the hand you got. They know something about domination and will rarley overvalue sutedness before the flop. These players love to limp in the pot and will more than likly give up to a big bet.

Leval 3, players think about the hand you have and the hand they have and the hand they have represented to you ( the hand you think they have). These players are more experienced. Ironically the better a player is the more cance you have to bluff them out. They are caable of the big laydown and won't think twice about laying down top pair with a decent kicker if they think they are beat.Post flop bluffs against these players would be most profitable to you .

So bottom line is this; when you here the "SHUFFLE UP AND DEAl" I strongly urge you to put yourself in a show-them-the-nuts mode.
